3 Delicious Things You Can Do With Steak Besides Just Grilling It
Okay, we hear you, you're never going to replace your beloved grill. We get it, there's no better way to prepare your grass fed steaks this summer. Even so, you have to know that that's only one way -- albeit a delicious way -- to prepare grass fed beef. The options you have to tap into your culinary creativity with beef are vast and diverse.
You're already a step ahead of the pack by getting your wagyu beef (among others) from us. Did you know that a high percentage of antibiotics produced in the United States are given to farm raised livestock in their feed? You did know our beef, pork, and seafood online don't have any of that nonsense. So, we're going to up your knowledge level even further with a few dishes oriented around steak that go beyond the classic grilling.
Steak Fajitas
Fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, and chilaquiles are excellent, classic Mexican dishes that steak is easy to add to (and preferable). Get your steak cut into slices, bite-sized pieces, or whatever size you prefer and pop them into any of those options for a savory southwestern snack.
Out of the frying pan, into the fire
You know that iron skillet you rarely use? It's time to get it seasoned. Grab your steak and dry rub it with salt, pepper, and whatever else makes you salivate (but don't overdo it). Do this while the oven preheats and your skillet warms up with a nice coat of olive oil. When it's ready, pop the steak on the skillet and cook both sides until they're browned. Then place the skillet into the oven. Temp is your call, but medium rare is a good bet to make. Cook until almost done, then let rest for a little after it's out of the oven.
Steak Tartare
We've said it before, but fortune flavors the bold. Steak tartare is for the culinary adventurous. A raw beef dish, it combines minced tenderloin, anchovies, raw egg, capers, and a list of herbs and spices. A classic Burgundian dish, there's a "way" to prepare it, but we celebrate creativity and encourage some personal exploration. What we also encourage is the freshest beef possible because it is a cold, raw meat dish. Oh wait, we've got you covered there.
Step beyond the borders of recipes you're used to this summer. When you're getting beef, pork, and seafood online from us, you're already ahead of the rest on your foodie adventure. Keep on truckin'.
